Avison Young represents national litigation firm in relocation of headquarters
25 janvier 2024Zuckerman Spaeder LLP leases 41,000 SF in trophy building at 2100 L Street, NW
Washington, DC – Avison Young today announced the successful closure of a 41,000-square-foot (sf) lease transaction for Zuckerman Spaeder LLP. The law firm will relocate its headquarters office from 1800 M Street, NW to 2100 L Street, NW — a trophy class office building in the heart of the commercial business district in the Nation’s Capital.
Zuckerman Spaeder, one of the nation’s premier litigation firms, has been a valued, long-standing client of Avison Young since 2001. Bruce McNair and Will Travis, Principals; Laura Peterson, Senior Vice President and Jenna Berk, Senior Associate represented the tenant, thoroughly vetting all building options before selecting the award-winning, 10-story, 190,000-square-foot asset located at the corner of L Street and 21st Street in NW, DC.
Zuckerman Spaeder’s vision for an innovative and vibrant workplace environment was achieved with this highly desirable location. The trophy building was built in 2020 and provides easy access to numerous amenities and public transportation options, including four convenient Metro lines. It offers an impressive list of amenities such as a rooftop terrace with captivating views of the DC skyline, an art gallery and an outdoor pocket park.
"We look forward to making 2100 L our firm’s future DC home," said Zuckerman Spaeder Co-Chairs Dwight Bostwick and Caroline Mehta. “Many aspects of the building are ideal for designing an office that enhances our clients’ experience and preserves our collaborative and connected culture."
The firm plans to move their approximately 90-person team of attorneys and professional staff in early 2025 when design and construction are expected to be completed.
"In the fast-paced world of real estate decisions, the 'flight to quality' continues to be a prominent factor. And this strategic relocation not only results in a modern, highly-amenitized office space but also provides our client a significant annual rent savings as well as a substantial increase in workspace efficiency," said Peterson.
Ben Meisel, Wil Pace, and McKay Elliott of Akridge represented the landlord in this transaction.
