Nearly 40% of Montreal industrial buildings currently under construction targeting LEED certification

Over the past decade, 10% of new industrial space delivered in the Greater Montréal area has been LEED certified (or is in the process of obtaining the certification).

  • This percentage is expected to rise sharply for the current generation of buildings as developers have announced their intention to obtain LEED certification for 39.5% of the inventory now under construction, according to our review of project materials.
  • We anticipate that this percentage will continue to rise in the future, as certain municipalities and industrial parks such as the 40NetZero Park in the East end of Montreal and the EcoParc in Saint-Bruno now require such sustainability commitments.
