City of Maple Ridge updating North East Albion Concept Plan

Closing on July 1st, the City of Maple Ridge held a virtual public engagement process for the draft concept of the North East Albion plan. The plan received 1st Reading from the mayor and council on January 26th, 2021 and since then has gone through internal and external referrals to collect feedback from various City departments and stakeholder groups impacted by the plan.
The North East Albion plan (see below land use concept) stretches from 108 Avenue in the south, just north of 112 Avenue at the north end and from approximately 246 Street in the west to 252 Street in the east. Highlights of the plan include:
- 62% single family development and 26% townhouse
- Higher densities positions in the northwest
- A new school in the south
- Two village commercial nodes
- 31% greenspace and a collection of multi-use pathways
Next steps
With feedback from the virtual public engagement process, the plan will be presented to council for second reading, anticipated to occur as early as the July 19th Committee of the Whole Meeting.
